The Skidmore Career Development Center awards summer grants to currently enrolled first-years, sophomores, and juniors for unpaid or limited stipend full-time summer internships. 

SEE-Beyond Awards invite students to explore new techniques, technologies, or modes of inquiry or expression; to apply their academic-year learning to real-world challenges; and to clarify the interrelationship between their educational and post-baccalaureate goals. Awards may be used to support field or laboratory research, internships, artistic residencies, workshops, apprenticeships, or productions.

The Elizabeth Marie Glotzbach Memorial Film-Industry Internship Fund Award (EMG Award) supports Skidmore students who wish to participate in an unpaid summer internship program in the film industry.

The ESS Summer Internship Award provides funds to students pursuing summer internships that address environmental concerns.

The Gaier Family Summer Experience Award supports students interested in disability studies or disability services. The fund provides students with the opportunity to explore an academic field of study or professional development experience of their choice, and allows students to advance an individualized plan based on academic interests and career goals.

The Gilbert Family Endowed Arts Administration Internship Fund provides a stipend to a student interested in pursuing a summer internship in the field of Arts Administration.

The Haley Entrepreneurial Artist Apprenticeship Award will support a student in a summer-intensive experience with a working artist, gallery, or other entrepreneurial learning opportunity designed to connect one’s passion for art making with practical, basic business experience in order to provide the skills needed to live as a working artist.

The Jennifer Landers Internship Award supports a student with an unpaid summer internship in the fields of Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Media Publishing, or Communications.

The Levine Internship Award honors the memory of Erwin L. Levine, a Skidmore Government Department professor of American politics and law from 1961 until his retirement in 1988. The award supports students interning in the fields of American government, law, or politics.

The MDOCS Documentary Summer Experience Award supports students who show a strong passion for documentary work and who are ready to pursue their own creative projects in independent, collaborative, and/or community-based settings. Students are especially encouraged to continue a project they began during the academic year, to get an early start on a major project for the subsequent academic year, or to develop competency in a new documentary modality.

The McAdams Family Service Award was established through the generosity of the McAdams Family (Class of 2008) and supports rising juniors who are US citizens and completing a community service project in a developing nation.

The Reece Robinson Fund Award supports a student who secures a summer internship in Photography, Documentary Studies, or general Media/Publishing.

This award was developed to provide Skidmore students with the opportunity to participate in unpaid internships to gain practical knowledge in their field of study and to further Skidmore College’s mission to encourage responsible citizenship, as outlined in the Strategic Action Agenda.

The Thorne Family Award provides a stipend to a first-generation college student to explore new techniques, technologies, or modes of inquiry or expression; to apply their academic-year learning to real-world challenges; and to clarify the interrelationship between their educational and post-baccalaureate goals. Awards may be used to support field or laboratory research, internships, artistic residencies, workshops, apprenticeships, or productions.

The Visual Arts Summer Experience Award provides a stipend to a student interested in pursuing a summer internship in the field of visual arts with an entrepreneurial artist or arts administration dimension.
